Mechanism Design is a foundational area in economics and computer science that focuses on designing systems, protocols, and decision-making frameworks that encourage participants to behave strategically while ensuring desirable global outcomes. Often referred to as the “reverse engineering of economic systems,” mechanism design seeks to construct rules that align individual incentives with system-wide objectives.
